Hi everyone,
Without the help of the members of this board, along with many other gracious contributors, this project would never have seen the light of day....Now, after a 10 month process, my search for the ultimate loudspeaker has finally ended?..My project has culminated in a loudspeaker that is nothing short of extraordinary...."Audiophiles" talk of "hearing things they've never heard before," and at the risk of sounding like I?ve been drinking snake oil, I now know what some of them are referring to?..I have finally found my speaker system for life! These truly sound like the music itself, and are far superior to just about any commercially available loudspeaker, at any price?..
Following are some pictures, some of which aren?t the best (they?re still a little dusty), but I wanted to show them off right away! They?re made of birch, with a natural finish on top, and a darker finish on the lower section so the cabinets have a ?foundation??.. top section is natural birch, and the bottom section is a darker stain so the cabinet looks....The black sections (back and area around the driver) are lacquer, and came out like a mirror....The crossover and binding posts are mounted to the removable panel on the rear of the cabinet, so if I ever want to fiddle with the crossover, it's just a few screws away....The one picture shows the 6" port with vent tube firing down towards the floor?.
One thing I have to mention is that these are much larger than I anticipated they would be?.Take a look at those tiny CD?s in the background??..
Again, many, many thanks to everyone who contributed to this project!!!!!!

I couldn't get the pictures to come up with the links, but if you go here:

You can pull them up.
Nice job, they look lovely.

They sure do look nice but thats a PITA way to view photos here!
Would you like me to send some instructions on how to do it with Photobucket! It is easy and quite acceptable here I think!

Great job!
Hey, I was wondering if you could tell us...
Where/how did you get the speaker rings
to cover the speaker?
I want to re-veneer a set of stonehenge cabs and I need these rings to pull it off.
Thanks...and yes, the altec duplexes provides uncanny imaging.
